Austin-Healey Owners' Club of Queensland

Famous Healey & Driver Reunited

Famous racing driver of the 60's & 70's, Ross Bond reunited with the 3000 that he drove to many victories in Sports Car races. Thanks to current owner & restorer, Colin Rule of NSW, Ross was able to thrill AH fans in this great car again.

The Austin-Healey Owners' Club of Qld Inc. hosted the 2002 National Rally of the AH Clubs of Australia in Warwick, Queensland over Easter to celebrate the Silver Jubilee of the Austin-Healey name. There were 80 AHs present at the display at historic Talgai Homestead on Easter Sunday. Several owners stretched their Healey's legs at Morgan Park Raceway. Jim Berting was actually present at the 1952 London Motor Show and described his reaction to seeing the very first Austin Healey to the gathering of AH enthusiasts, some of whom had come from as far away as the USA and New Zealand.
It was perfect that the 50th anniversary fell on the year that the Qld Club was host for the annual National Rally. We take turns among the states to do this. The town of Warwick (150kms south west of Brisbane) was thrilled that we came and did a great job of welcoming us. Several Healeys were driven from as far away as Perth (4,500kms) and three Healeys were driven from Melbourne, Victoria via Perth and Darwin!
